Concerns deepen after hefty defeat

Herts/Middlesex Division 2: Old Grammarians 43 Uxbridge 0

Bottom side Uxbridge suffered another heavy defeat and another shut out as Old Grammarians racked up a 43-0 victory to go second in the table.

The Grammarians pack battered their opposite numbers in the set scrums and their backs were able to finish off the chances that regularly came their way, while by contrast the Uxbridge backs were unable to convert any of their few opportunities, although Glen Curtin was by far Uxbridge's best player.

The team was left without a point for the second week running and captain Mark Mason, who was unavailable, has work to do to find a way of getting a first league win, although a visit from third bottom Royston this weekend is a winnable fixture.

The second team saw their game cancelled by Quintin II at the last minute and they travel to Old Actonians for a friendly on Saturday.

See www.uxbridgerfc.co.uk  for more information on the club.
