Women bag team award

HILLINGDON AC ran off with the women's team prize to cap a successful day out for the club at the Blenheim Palace 10K.

Wendy Harbottle (44mins 13secs), second in the women's race, Anna Breed (48.21), Lesley Conway (50.12) and Susan Favell (53.26) landed the award while Nigel Ealand was first in the men's 50-59 years age group in 40.40 and Brian Leach won the 60-plus category in 41.36.

Nick Seamen (42.57), Dave Smith (44.04), John Myall (45.15), Mick Miller (46.24), John Brockhouse (46.29), Alan Butler (48.46), Brian Favell (52.34), Graham Wood (53.14), Tony Bennett (54.31), Jackie Butler (55.03), Leigh Mitchell (55.49), Deborah Butler (57.58) and Joanne Mitchell (59.13) also took part.

There were 389 finishers and the men's race was won for the third year running by Stephen Kimber in 34.29, while Lucy Walmsley landed the women's title in 40.07.
