SAMAN Kanani claimed the bragging rights for Harefield United as they edged out rivals Hillingdon Borough 3-2 in a local derby on Tuesday night.
Borough took an early lead when Rob Laney struck with only thirteen minutes on the clock. However, five minutes later Mo Hashi bagged his first of the match to level the game before striking right on half time to ensure United held a 2-1 lead going into the break.
And Harefield bolstered their position further at the beginning of the second half, with Kanani finding the back of the net with fifty-three minutes gone.
With twenty minutes to go Tom Kirk scored to give Hillingdon hope of salvaging a draw but United deservedly held on to claim all three points.
Meanwhile, Northwood recovered from going down to an early goal to rescue a point in a 1-1 draw at home to Biggleswade Town.
Northwood began slowly and were one goal down within nine minutes when Joel Mason scored for the visitors.
Reece Yorke took only 80second after the break to draw Northwood level, after which the Woods took control of the game.
And Adamson Ajayi spurned a golden opportuinity to give Northwood the win, after being awarded a penalty, his shot his the outside of the post.
It was the third consecutive penalty Northwood have missed and meant both teams walked away with a share of the points.
