A GOALKEEPING howler saw Uxbridge's inconsistent start to the season continue at the hands of Beaconsfield SYCOB on Tuesday night.

Goals from Rams winger Ryan Upward and forward Nathan Jack saw the Reds slump to their fourth defeat in eight matches.

All the early running was done by Uxbridge and Mark Smith had the first shot on goal at Honeycroft but his long-range effort was well-saved by Rams keeper Jonathan Nydell.

The Reds continued to push forward and had another chance to take the lead when Kevin Warner got on the end of a Nicke Kabamba cross.

But Uxbridge fell behind when a harmless looking Ryan Upward cross was flapped at by keeper Matt Elston-Bull and somehow nestled in the back of the net.

SYCOB could have extended their lead when Jordan Ajanlekoko was given far too much space, however he saw his strike parried away by Elston-Bull.

Chris Moore did his best to fire Uxbridge back into the match, his vicious shot flashing across the face of goal as Beaconsfield went in ahead at the break.

The Reds’ failure to convert possession into goals continued as Wayne Carter could not connect properly with an excellent cross from the influential Warner.

In contrast, SYCOB were clinical and Jack added a well-worked second for The Rams with twenty minutes to go.

Uxbridge never give up and continued in their search for a goal as substitute Shaun Lucien and Smith both saw shots saved by Nydell.
