Hares' first half performance kills game off

Spartan Premier Divisionharefield United 3 Broxbourne Borough 0

DENVER Morris struck two minutes before the break to effectively end this contest as the hosts stormed into a 2-0 half-time lead.

Though Broxbourne looked dangerous early on, Harefield struck first when an Adam Willis cross was only half cleared and Alex Brown shot through a crowded area and into the bottom corner.

Murat Karagul went close for the visitors, but Harefield secured the killer second when Jake Morten found Morris and he powered through, before slotting home smartly.

Broxbourne battled back to try to get back into the match after the break, but Harefield held firm and a Tom Kirk header put the icing on the cake to render the final 15 minutes academic. Harefield goalkeeper Charlie Miller proved equal to Broxbourne's attempts to salvage a late consolation to keep his second successive clean sheet.

SPARTAN PREMIER DIVISION Aylesbury 2 Hillingdon Borough 0

HILLINGDON Borough went down 2-0 at Spartan Premier Division League leaders Aylesbury on Saturday and finished the match one short, with Luke Craig dismissed for two yellow cards.

Kendrick Dwyer had to fill in in goal with first-choice goalkeeper John Ashwood stuck in traffic. And Dwyer was picking the ball out of the net just seven minutes in when Ross Lafayette struck for the opener.

His strike partner, Nathan Graham, made it two with a header just before the half hour mark.
