RYMAN LEAGUE ONE NORTH Northwood 1 Lowestoft Town 3
TITLE favourites Lowestoft Town enhanced their credentials with a hard-fought victory at Northwood.
Scott Orphanou returned in the Woods' attack at the expense of Aaron Cato but it was midweek hat-trick hero Eugene Ofori who first forced Andy Reynolds into a good save.
His opposite number, Aaron Bufton, then gifted the visitors the lead when he dropped Adam Smith's free-kick at the feet of Town defender Matthew Halliday, who headed home from close range.
Jamie Godbold, Sam Sharples and Ofori all went close to restoring parity before Lowestoft doubled their lead when Gary McGee sprang the off-side trap before powering the ball past an exposed Bufton.
McGee struck again 14 minutes into the second half before his side were reduced to 10 men when Andrew Fisk saw red for lashing out at Anton Lewis.
Ofori reduced the arrears after Reynolds fumbled but Lowestoft never looked in danger of relin
quishing their lead, which took them to the summit of the table. * Northwood FC is seeking a press officer after Robin Piper decided to step down from the post.
