Boro boss takes draw

A LATE goal earned Hillingdon Borough boss Steve Ringrose a 1-1 draw when he took charge of the Middlesex senior representative side for a game with Middlesex Wanderers.

Three minutes from time Danny McGonigle headed in an excellent corner by Boro's Sam Byfield to snatch a deserved equaliser in one of two games staged at The Warren to celebrate the county FA's 125th anniversary.

Wanderers opened the scoring in the first half when Simon Austin converted a cross from former Yeading wing-back Steve Wales and in the second half there were opportunities at both ends.

Middlesex threatened when Uxbridge's Dave Thomas just cleared the bar with a terrific drive and AFC Hayes striker Danny Jordan shot over, while Mario Noto and Chris Watters went close for Wanderers before McGonigle nodded home.

That game followed a 3-3 draw between the Middlesex Women's representative team and a South East Select XI that contained several England stars.
