Twickenham 138 all out Uxbridge 105-5 Winning draw for Uxbridge
UXBRIDGE remain deep in relegation trouble after rain robbed them of the chance of a shock win at home to high-flying Twickenham on Saturday.
A tremendous effort by the bowlers, led by Matt Dampier's 4-64 saw Uxbridge dismiss the visitors for just 138, but rain halted their victory charge 34 runs short on 105-5.
The result leaves them seven points short of safety with only five games left.
Dampier got his side off to a flyer after they won the toss and put the visitors in, having opener Clint McCabe caught for just five.
New-ball partner Ryan Connor then bagged two wickets of his own to reduce Twickenham to 42-3.
Dampier joined forces with Mike Stafford (2-12) to rip out the middle order, including the prize wicket of opposing skipper Carlos Nunes for 36, before Connor (4-55) wrapped up the tail.
Tony Stephens led the run chase with a six and five fours in his 32, and Jibram Azam was still unbeaten with 17 from 20 balls when the heavens opened.
