Shah hits out in Middlesex win

Twenty20 champions Middlesex surged to a 43 run victory over Somerset under the Lord's floodlights last night (Monday) in the Pro40 Division One.

Middlesex posted a target of 203 for 9 off their 40 overs with Owais Shah hitting a superb 96 while Twenty20 cup hero Tyron Henderson made a rapid 50 off just 25 balls as the home side recovered from 50 for 5.

Fromer England opener Marcus Trescothick got Somerset off to a good start with 40 off 35 balls before falling to Henderson.

Spinners Shaun Udal (3-21) and Murali Karthik (2-36) then got to work on the Somerset batsmen and they were dismissed for 160 leaving Middlesex comfortable winners.
