Uxbridge fall short in victory chase

UXBRIDGE had to settle for a winning draw in their Middlesex League Division three match with Kenton on Saturday with bowlers Graham Lines and Steven Wright taking the honours.

Batting first Kenton made 164 from 54.2 overs as Lines (4-28) and Wright with three for 46 from 16.2 overs kept the batsmen in check with some accurate bowling.

Uxbridge got off to a good start in their run chase with openers Andre Jason (24) and Nick Hardy (20) setting a solid platform to launch a victory bid.

However, wickets then started to tumble and despite good knocks from Riz Dar (23) and Rajesh Singh (21) Uxbridge had to settle for a winning draw as thery reached 136 for 9 off 45 overs at the close.
