Malan hits century at Park Road

A Dawid Malan century was the highlight of the first day's play of Middlesex's County Championsip clash with Northamptonshire at Uxbridge's Park Road on Sunday.

Middlesex were struggling on 36-4 before Malan's 121 not out rescued them and at close of play they finished on 317-7.

England pair Andrew Strauss (2) and Owais Shah (1) were among the early Middlesex victims before Malan took control and he shared a fifth wicket stand of 121 with Eion Morgan (66).

Play continues today (Monday) at 11am.
