Aston Villa 2-2 QPR
QPR blew a two-goal lead as they were held to a frustrating draw at Villa Park.
Djibil Cisse and a Stephen Warnock own goal put Rangers in the ascendancy, only for Darren Bent and Charles N'Zogbia to hit back and earn the hosts a deserved share of the points.
Mark Hughes handed debuts to new signings Nedum Onuoha, Taye Taiwo and Cisse, and it took just 10 minutes for one of them to make their mark.
Shaun Wright-Phillips' shot was deflected into the path of Cisse, and the former Liverpool frontman made no mistake, steering the ball past Shay Given with the outside of his boot.
And it was another of Sparky's new-boys who helped double QPR's lead just before the half-hour mark.
Nigerian full-back Taiwo sent in a teasing cross from the left, and Warnock somehow headed past his own keeper with no Rangers player within yards of him.
The visitors had Paddy Kenny to thank for keeping their two-goal advantage intact soon after, getting down low to parry Richard Dunne's header.
Villa continued to look for a foothold in the game, with the woodwork coming to Rangers' rescue as Robbie Keane's effort bounced back off the bar.
But the hosts eventually pulled one back on the stroke of half-time when Bent swept home Alan Hutton's low cross from the right.
Villa were denied a stonewall penalty after the break when Shaun Derry handled Ciaran Clark's goalbound piledriver as Alex Mcleish's men pushed for an equaliser.
Kenny kept out Keane's effort, while Bent fluffed his lines from six yards after being picked out in the box.
But their relentless pressure paid off 12 minutes from the end when Stiliyan Petrov broke free down the right before crossing for N'Zogbia to lash home the leveller.
Rangers were hanging on, and they were lucky Tommy Smith was in the right place at the right time to block Bent's effort on the line, while Kenny beat away N'Zogbia's drive moments later.
