HAYES and Yeading began life after Nas Bashir by thrashing Uxbridge in the Middlesex Senior Cup quarter-final.
Bashir left United on Monday and stand-in management team Tony O’Driscoll and Tristan Lewis got off to a dream start at Honeycroft last night.
Hayes & Yeading ran out 5-2 winners thanks to braces from former Crystal Palace forward Alassane N'Diaye and Luke Williams as well as one for Kudus Oyenuga.
The result sees United progress to the semi-finals where they will face Marcus Gayle’s Staines Town after they saw off Harefield United on penalties.
In another of the night’s other cup ties, Mark Burgess’ Northwood breezed past Hampton & Richmond Borough.
The Woods took the lead through Spencer Bellotti as he got the final touch after Oliver Hawkins had headed goalwards.
Bellotti fired home the second in first half stoppage time to put the hosts firmly in the driving seat.
Substitute Niko Muir made sure of the win by adding a late third to set up a semi-final date at Ashford Town, who edged out North Greenford in their match.
Meanwhile, two goals in stoppage-time sealed a 3-0 win for AFC Hayes over Fleet Town in the Evo-Stik Division One Central.
Tony Mendy got the ball rolling on the hour before Stanley Mugisha and Tom Martin rubbed salt into the wound in time added on.
