NATIONAL SUPER 8 HANDBALL LEAGUE
Ruislip Eagles 24

RUISLIP Eagles were back to league duties at the weekend following their cup heroics and it was business as usual as they swept aside their opponents.
Victory over Liverpool on March 9 saw the men’s first team fly into the last four of the EHA Cup but there were no signs of any residual tiredness.
Eagles player-manager Marc Fayemi said: “It was another tough game for us to win. We showed character and discipline.
“Coach Amer Altimimi was very satisfied with the performance as he has seen his team produce the best defence performance of the season so far.”
Despite several players missing, the Ruislip squad still had quality with the return of David Sedlacek and Yohann Lucas.
With an impressively solid defence, the Eagles started the game strongly and were able to take a 9-2 lead, thanks to some accurate shooting.
At half-time, Ruislip were 11-6 ahead but Cambridge came back fighting after the interval to pull level at 16 each.
It was all set up for an exciting last quarter, and with Tibor Szerencse producing impressive saves in the Ruislip goal, Lucas and Akos Jojo Weress ran riot at the other end to see Eagles home.
Lucas finished as top scorer with eight, Weress claimed seven, Michael Vitello bagged four, David Sedlacek and Marc Fayemi both scored two, and Fabien Colette, Hadrien Pollino and Elie Belkheir also notched.
