Hayes & Yeading 1-1 Maidenhead United
KUDUS Oyenuga thought he had delivered Hayes & Yeading fans a late Christmas present until Maidenhead snatched a point at the death this afternoon.
The former Tottenham striker was restored to the side for the visit of the Magpies and looked to have put an end to United's three-game winless run in the Blue Square South.
But a last-minute Maidenhead equaliser frustrated the Kingfield faithful as Nas Bashir's side were forced to settle for a share of the points on Boxing Day.
Oyenuga, Calum Butcher and Josh Ekim all came into the starting line-up having missed out against Dover Athletic last time out.
On-loan Barnet duo George McCluskey and Jamal Lowe were made to wait for their Hayes & Yeading debuts as manager Bashir named them on the bench for the festive clash.
The home side started brightly and Oyenuga took just 13 minutes to open the scoring from the penalty spot as he rammed home his 12th of the season to give Hayes & Yeading a dream start.
Oyenuga earned a rest in the second-half as Bashir withdrew him to give game-time to Dan Spence, who has found himself out of the side at the expense of new-arrival Danny Braithwaite.
United seemed to be cruising towards the final whistle and three valuable points but Reece Tison-Lascaris struck in the dying moments to snatch a point for Maidenhead.
Hayes & Yeading welcome Basingstoke Town to Kingfield on Saturday as they look to end their disappointing recent run in the league.
Hayes & Yeading: Hall, Butcher, Braithwaite, Cox, Cadmore, Pele, Ekim, Bentley, Joseph, Oyenuga (Spence), Wishart.
Subs (not used): McCluskey, Richards, Lowe, Beasant.
