HARRY Redknapp remained tight-lipped on the future of axed QPR captain Joey Barton this morning.
The midfielder was stripped of the armband and shipped out on a season-long loan to Marseille after being hit with a 12-game ban by the FA following his violent conduct at Manchester City in May.
Barton still has two years remaining on his contract at QPR, but looks unlikely to return to the fold.
However, Redknapp was quiet on the 30-year-old's future when he was unveiled to the press at the club's Harlington training base.
“Joey's not here so he can't help me," said Redknapp. “He's on loan for the season.
“I'm not thinking about next season, I'm only thinking about the present. We need to get cracking.”
