SCOTT McGleish has emerged as a transfer target for Hayes & Yeading.
The veteran striker has scored 209 Football League goals in 692 appearances in a successful 18-year professional career.
McGleish has turned out for clubs such as Charlton Athletic, Leyton Orient, Peterborough, Colchester, Cambridge United, Barnet, Northampton and Wycombe Wanderers.
However, he was released by League Two Bristol Rovers in the summer and opted to play part-time football with Ryman Premier Division outfit Whitehawk in Sussex.
United boss Nas Bashir is keen to add to his frontline which he believes could benefit from the considerable experience the 38-year-old possesses and is understood to have invited the hitman to train with the club.
Young Kudus Oyenuga has made a blistering start to his Hayes & Yeading career and has already struck nine goals for the club, however Bashir wants to give the former Spurs man some competition for his place.
Jerome Anderson and Manny Williams are both capable of playing as a central striker but are more versatile and tend to operate as forwards, switching flanks and roaming across a font three.
Ryan O’Toole has shown considerable goalscoring prowess at Windsor but is fighting to get fully fit and United chief Bashir is believed to have reservations about how quickly he can start firing on all cylinders at Kingfield.
McGleish is thought to be keen to join up with the Blue Square South side, however Hayes & Yeading are looking at other options should a move not materialise.
