NAS Bashir praised the attitude of his Hayes & Yeading squad after their four-goal demolition of Staines Town.
The United boss called a team meeting on Monday to get to the bottom of their 3-1 defeat to Eastleigh at the weekend.
Bashir demanded a response from his troops and a Luke Williams brace and goals from Kudus Oyenuga and Jerome Anderson provided against the Swans on Tuesday night.
“We needed a reaction after Saturday,” said Bashir. “We had a team meeting last night and I think the players knew they had let themselves and the club down on Saturday but that was the perfect way to put it right.
“I thought their keeper made two fantastic saves in the first-half otherwise it could have been all over at half-time. We kept going and I thought overall we were the better team and deserved it.”
Bashir watched his side hit four at one end and shut out Marcus Gayle’s side at the other in a fine performance at Kingfield.
And the Hayes & Yeading chief insists the club is starting to find the right balance between defence and attack as the Blue Square South season progresses.
“Both aspects pleased me tonight,” he said. “To do well in this league we need to score goals, play well and keep clean sheets. We work on our attacking play and our attacking play so it’s nice to come off the back of a four-nil victory.”
