WHEELCHAIR tennis ace Andy Lapthorne had to settle for a silver medal after being edged out in the Quad Doubles final.
The Eastcote star teamed up with experienced Paralympic campaigner Peter Norfolk to take on US pair David Wagner and Nick Taylor.
Wagner and Taylor came flying out the blocks and took the first set 6-2 before a gutsy second set fightback from the Brits took the game into the decisive third set.
But having toiled in the heat at Eton Manor to ensure the game went the distance, Lapthorne and Norfolk did not have enough left in the tank and lost 6-2 in the final set to see them finish with silver.
The GB pair were keen to make amends after both losing early in their singles campaigns and will be pleased to take home a medal.
