Havant & Waterlooville 2-1 Hayes & Yeading
SLOPPY Hayes & Yeading threw away three points against 10-man Havant & Waterlooville this evening.
Jerome Anderson had given United an early lead but they could not hold on despite the Hawks having to play for more than hour without red-carded Sam Pearce.
With Sam Cox sitting this one out through suspension, Hayes & Yeading boss Nas Bashir handed Mark Bentley the captain’s armband.
Making a blistering start at Westleigh Park, the visitors who took the lead after 11 minutes through the pacy Anderson.
And when Pearce picked up a second yellow after tangling with Bentley on 17 minutes it looked like it would be an easy night’s work for Bashir’s boys.
But the Hawks’ half-time team-talk seemed to work almost instantly as within five minutes of the restart they found themselves level thanks to Arron Dawson.
And with just over 20 minutes to go, Steven Ramsey bagged the winner for the home side who were simply to hot to handle in the second period.
The result leaves United in 11th spot in the Blue Square South standings.
