HAYES & YEADING are launching a triple-raid on Hampton & Richmond Borough.
United want to sign relegated Beavers trio Dean Inman, Dave Tarpey and Nathan Collier for next season, but face a fight for their signatures.
Boss Nas Bashir has identified a lack of firepower as his side’s main weakness and has made Tarpey (pictured) one of his main striking targets as he looks to bounce straight back to the Blue Square Premier.
United had been weighing up a move for Borehamwood’s Inih Effiong, who impressed on loan at Chesham earlier this year, but he has recently agreed terms on a new deal with The Wood.
And with Effiong staying at Meadow Park, Tarpey – who picked up the Borough’s players’ player of the year and supporters’ player of the year this month – has emerged as a front runner for the role.
Tarpey signed a one-year deal last summer and United are ready to swoop for the striker when his contract expires next month. They face competition from Woking, as Cards manager Garry Hill is also understood to be interested in signing the frontman.
Midfielder Collier played in a trial game hosted by United last week, having been on Bashir’s radar for the past few weeks, and will be available once his deal with Mark Harper’s team expires in July.
Inman, a product of the Beavers U18s set-up, attracted the attention of QPR last term, spending part of pre-season at Loftus Road after impressing Rangers in a friendly game.
The promising young centre-half, who can play in the centre of midfield, is also believed to be drawing interest from Farnborough.
United have planned a pre-season friendly with Brentford at Kingfield on Wednesday, July 18, and further fixtures with Hendon, Burnham and Harrow Borough have been announced.
The Hayes & Yeading squad are due to report back for pre-season training on Saturday, July 7.
