NAS BASHIR will continue as Hayes & Yeading manager after convincing the club’s hierarchy that he is the man for the job.
Bashir and his assistant Tristan Lewis were summoned for showdown talks yesterday evening following the club’s relegation last weekend.
The Gazette understands the duo had to give a three-hour presentation to the board to explain their vision for the future of the club.
Bashir is believed to have put forward his plans for summer recruitment and the Kingfield chief has already spoken to several senior players about staying on next season.
And chairman Derek Goodall and the board have shown their faith in the former Reading coach by responding positively to his blueprint.
A statement on the club’s website read: “Following a review of the current season between first team manager Nas Bashir and the Board on Thursday evening, all parties are in agreement that Nas is the man to lead Hayes & Yeading United’s challenge for a swift return to the Blue Square Bet Premier in 2012/13.”
United entertain Stockport county tomorrow afternoon in their final Blue Square Premier game of the season.
More discussions are expected to take place in the days after the Stockport game as United prepare for life in the Blue Square South.
