HAYES and Yeading boss Nas Bashir says he is not expecting Jamie Hand to be back at the club this season.
Bashir believes the midfielder will prove himself at Luton Town during his three-month loan spell and lead to the Hatters taking up the option of signing him permanently after his impressive debut in a 2-0 win over Darlington on Saturday.
"I do not think that he will be coming back if he plays like he did on Saturday - I believe he was an eight out of 10," said Bashir. "I said when I took over that it did not matter whether players are 17 or 27, we want to improve them.
"No one wanted Jamie at the start of the season, but after seven games his performances have been recognised. He has been fantastic for us and I have not seen a better midfielder in the games that we have played so far.
"He has gone to a team that I feel will win it or at least be top-two and they are a big club that get over 5,000 fans every week. I think he made the right decision for himself.
"We are a club in transition though and we have to move forward."
