AN incident where a man was found unconscious on a shopping parade is being treated as 'suspicious' by police.
Paramedics tried to resuscitate the man, believed to be 42 years old, after finding him collapsed on the pavement outside Paddy Power bookmakers in Uxbridge Road, Hayes, just after 8am yesterday (Tuesday).
He was taken to Hillingdon Hospital in critical condition. It is believed that he has since died, but this has not been confirmed.
The London Ambulance Service say he was suffering from a cardiac arrest. Police confirmed that the incident was being treated as 'suspicious' at the early stages of their investigation.
Wendy Thompson, manager at John Harveys hairdressers, says the man was a beggar who regularly visited the parade.
"We got here just before 9am, and we could see paramedics giving him heart compressions. Then they put a tent up.
"I spoke to a couple of people who knew him, and my colleagues heard people calling him George. It's not nice."
