Two women are in hospital following a collision in Hillingdon on New Year's Day.
Police were called at 3.35am on Tuesday to reports of two women injured in Pield Heath Road, Uxbridge.
A police spokesman said it was believed that the women were struck by a Vauxhall Corsa which had mounted the pavement.
London Ambulance Service attended and both women were taken to a central London hospital. The first victim, aged 19, remains in a critical condition; while the second woman, 20, remains in a serious condition.
The vehicle believed involved in the collision was found abandoned in West Drayton Road a short while later.
A 22-year-old woman was arrested later on the same day on suspicion of drink driving, failing to stop and causing serious injury by dangerous driving - she was taken to a west London police station and has been bailed pending further inquiries to a date in late March.
Officers from the Met's Traffic Unit investigate and ask for anyone who witnessed the collision, or the events leading up to or immediately after the collision, to contact them on 0208 842 1817.
