HS2 announcement delayed until next year

AN ANNOUNCEMENT about the second phase of the HS2 development has been delayed until next year.

Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne revealed in his Autumn Statement today (Wednesday) that new information about how the line will link with the north of the country has been delayed until the early part of next year.

It had been due to be made before Christmas, but will now come following this week's judicial reviews into the government's decision to allow the line to be built.
