A MAN has been arrested in connection with the unsolved 1981 murder of a teenage girl from Yeading.
The suspect, 65, was taken into custody yesterday (Tuesday) to be questioned about the murder of 17-year-old Claire Woolterton.
Her body was found by a member of the public on a towpath alongside Barry Avenue in Windsor on the morning of August 28 1981. She had been strangled and stabbed.
The arrest was made by officers with Thames Valley Polices Major Crime Review Team, after the cold case was reopened.
At the time of her death, Claire was living with her family in Yeading, Hayes.
