BOARD members are being sought for the borough’s new health service scrutiny organisation.
Next April, Hillingdon Local Involvement Network (LINk) will be replaced by Healthwatch Hillingdon, and take on responsibility for spreading information about NHS services.
It will be funded through a grant from Hillingdon Council, but will be independent.
It needs eight executive members with enthusiasm and drive to oversee its new direction, and a career background and skills in communications, community engagement, performance, finance, commissioning, procurement and policy are desirable but not essential.
Councillor Philip Corthorne, cabinet member for health, said: “This is a great opportunity for our residents to be involved in shaping health and social care services in the borough. By joining the Healthwatch Hillingdon Board they will play an important role in ensuring that the views of our residents are represented when making important decisions which affect them. We encourage anyone with an interest to apply.”
It is a voluntary role but expenses will be covered, and board members will need to be available at least one day a month.
The closing date for applications is December 31. Send a CV and a covering letter of no more than two pages, explaining why you are right for the role, to email@example.com
