FIVE teens accused of assaulting a man at a bus stop in Hayes town have been acquitted.
The suspects were believed to be part of a gang that attacked Shubhash Hira outside Natwest bank in Coldharbour Lane, Hayes.
Mr Hira, 38 at the time of the incident, sustained serious leg injuries in the fight, which happened on April 2 at 10.25pm.
A 17-year-old from Sipson, who cannot be named; and Mahad Nuur, of Denbigh Drive, Hayes: Shafie Mohamoud, of Hitherbroom Road, Hayes; Hanat Mohamed, of Balmoral Drive, Hayes; and Imtiaz Zazay, of Burleigh Road, Uxbridge - all 18 - were charged with GBH with intent after police appeals for information.
They all denied involvement, and were cleared of all charges by a jury yesterday (Wednesday) following a trial at Isleworth Crown Court, which started on October 9.
During the trial, the court was shown CCTV footage which the prosecution claimed showed the teens aboard a bus together, and running away from the scene in the moments after the attack.
