PUPILS have donated piles of food to a Hillingdon charity.
Youngsters at St Helen’s College, in Parkway, Hillingdon, gave more than 40 bags of produce to Christian charity Hillingdon Foodbank as part of their harvest festival celebrations.
The organisation distributes food to families and people in need across the borough.
Younger pupils also performed in a harvest themed assembly at the school, while older children travelled to All Saints Church, Long Lane, Hillingdon, for a harvest festival service.
Joint head teacher Jill Crehan said: “Our annual harvest festival is a chance to remind pupils there are people who are not lucky enough to have plenty to eat. Remembering how our food is grown and giving part of our own ‘harvest’ to help those less fortunate is a tradition we are proud to uphold.”
