A MAN has been arrested in Hayes as part of a major investigation into visa fraud.
UK Border Agency officers arrested the British man, aged 34, at an address in Swanage Way, Hayes, during one of nine raids across west London this morning (Tuesday).
Seven others were arrested at four addresses in Willesden, Kenton, Southall, and Kilburn, all on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud.
Searches were also carried out at four business premises in Harrow and Park Royal, two of which involved the offices of immigration law advisors.
The arrests were the culmination of a year-long investigation into a criminal network suspected of assisting hundreds of clients, mainly Indian, Pakistani and Nepali nationals, to fraudulently apply for UK visas, where clients would typically pay thousands of pounds each.
The suspects are now being questioned at a police station in London.
