GOLFERS teed off to raise money for a cause close to their hearts.
More than 100 people turned out for Rosie Williams Day, held at Northwood Golf Club, Rickmansworth Road, Northwood.
The event clocked up about £15,000 for Ovarian Cancer Research, in memory of its namesake, a former club member who died from the disease.
About 80 people arrived for bacon rolls in the morning, followed by 18 holes of golf on the course.
In the evening, 118 guests enjoyed a three course meal, accompanied by music from a harpist, then a raffle and an auction.
The winners of the golf event were Denise Crouch and Robert Whelan.
Bridie Fitzpatrick has been organising the event since her friends Mrs Williams died in 2008.
She said: “The sun shone for us on the course so Rosie was looking after us very well.”
