SCOUT leaders have been awarded prestigious “Wood” badges for advanced training.
Simon Hill and Steve Cooney, leaders of the 4th Eastcote troops, were given their awards at a recent annual meeting.
David Horchover, a spokesman for the scouts, said: “These awards are thoroughly deserved and are only awarded to leaders after having passed strict tests.
“The 4th Eastcote is now the largest scout group in the Ruislip, Eastcote and Northwood district, with a waiting list of youngsters wishing to join.
“In fact the whole country is experiencing a boom in new members and this is matched by an increase in those adults who wish to become leaders and helpers. Scouting is more popular than ever and the statistics are proving it.”
