MUMS and dads are being urged to join the parent’s ambassadors network.
Interested adults visited the Yiewsley Cornerstone Children’s Centre in Colham Avenue, West Drayton, on Wednesday last week, to find out more about the project.
The new network is a forum for families to share information and advice on childcare while promoting early language communication development and home learning.
Hillingdon Council is also recruiting volunteers to offer one-to-one literacy support to families with young children, and make parents aware of services, including free childcare provision.
Councillor David Simmonds, the council’s cabinet member for education and children's services, said: “The amount of parents showing an interest in becoming a parent ambassador at today’s event has been impressive. With their support we can help other parents in the community to strengthen their children’s development and increase their own support networks.
