A CELEBRATION of talent takes place at the Bandstand Marathon this Sunday, in Shenley Park.
A number of bands and musicians will be performing at the park in Shenley Avenue, Ruislip Manor as part of the national celebration of local music, with gigs taking place at the same time, on the same day across the country.
Les Drussel, chairman of Ruislip Manor chamber of commerce, has organised the event. He said: "We are including a wide range of ages, abilities and types of music from our community. We have jazz bands, school choirs, musical duos and folk bands.
"The bandstand provides a showcase for young, talented musicians from the local area.
"We also have Zumba dancing and Jimmy the JAMtots Bear to entertain the children and for them to join in and participate throughout the afternoon."
It is expected that the sunny weather will continue for the Bandstand Marathon, where local restaurants and cafes will provide an international theme to food on the day. The free event runs from 1pm to 6pm.
