THREE people were taken to hospital after police were called to a fight in Ruislip last night.
Police attended the incident, at Ruislip Conservative Club, in Ickenham Road at around midnight.
Two men and a woman were taken to hospital by ambulance. Both men suffered cuts to the head, with one suffering cuts on his hand and the other cuts on his back. The woman had a cut on her leg.
Anxious neighbours told the Gazette this morning that they witnessed a number of police officers at the scene after the fight broke out at around 11pm.
One person said their relative had been left 'scared and shaken up' after spotting a forensic team in the street in the early hours.
A man in his 20s has been arrested.
Ruislip Conservative Club chairman Frank Burkett said the social club had gone to some lengths to make sure an incident like this would not occur at their building, but unfortunately they could not control the people involved.
Mr Burkett said: "We did advise the police that the private event was going to take place. Unfortunately the booking was made by an ex-employee who has since been fired, and as the man who made the booking had paid and received a receipt of his booking, we could not get out of it.
"We did try to get out of the event. And when we couldn't we made sure that the event would be properly policed by the man who made the booking. He assured us it would be."
Mr Burkett has been chairman of the conservative club for five years, and in that time he says they have only been visited by the police once.
He said: "we are very considerate of who we let hire out the club for private functions because we are very close to peoples houses. This booking was made by someone who no longer works here, without us knowing about it."
