FANCY a Friday night with a difference? Then get down to The Water's Edge restaurant in Packet Boat Lane, Cowley on Friday (March 2) for a charity fundraiser - with the emphasis on fun.
There will be a poker table, splitting winnings 50-50 with the two charities the event supporrts - Teenage Cancer Trust and Cancer Research UK.
And if cards are not your thing, enjoy the band, DJ and karaoke, after buying plenty of raffle tickets.
Organiser, Rachell Hartwell, said: "Both charities are close to my heart as they provided so much treatment, help and support for my auntie, who I lost last year to cancer of the oesophagus, and cousin, who I lost last year to breast cancer.
"I am not only doing this for lost loved ones but also for some success stories; my friend Rebecca is currently fighting her battle with Hodgkin’s lymphoma; and my 18 year old cousin who is fighting leukaemia for the third time since the age of nine.
"His bone marrow transplant in November is proving to be successful so far."
Guests are asked to bring any small items or any clothing they can spare that would make suitable goods for a charity shop to sell, and Rachel will take them.
The event begins at 8pm and is expected to wind up about 2am on Saturday.
