CROWDS defied miserable weather to witness a spectacular fireworks display at the end of a popular summer concert.
The Ickenham Festival Big Band night was held in the grounds of 17th Century Swakeleys House on Saturday evening.
They were entertained by the Stardust BigBand, Hillingdon Musical Society, Rhythm Players Steel Band and Vyners Dhol drummers.
Doug Neilson, organiser, said: "The audience were singing along under their umbrellas and also had the benefit of a barbecue provided by Friends of Vyners (school) and a large firework display to music to finish."
He estimates that more than 700 people attended the concert, raising more than £2,000.
"The money will be split between the Ickenham Festival and the bands. Its marvellous value for everybody, music food and fireworks all for £7.
"It was virtually dry the whole evening, although the sky did look a bit threatening at times. We are delighted with how it went."
The next Ickenham Festival will be held next year, and various events will be held around the village throughout this year to raise funds
