Hillingdon mayor's supper with local heroes

THE mayor of Hillingdon welcomed Local Heroes winners to her parlour for a light supper.

Councillor Mary O'Connor was unable to get to the awards ceremony at Uxbridge College's Hayes campus in July because of a full meeting of Hillingdon Council - so she threw an informal party to say 'well done'.

Several winners, runners-up and nominees from the annual awards presented by Uxbridge College and the Gazette, plus members of their families, were treated to food and drink and a close look at the ceremonial maces and other mayoral paraphernalia in the parlour.
