Year 11s run riot in the park (again)
CONGRATULATIONS to Hillingdon Council staff.
I phoned the out of hours number on Bank Holiday Saturday morning and within an hour two council staff were busy cleaning Bessingly Park.
Why? On the previous Friday night, more than 100 young people ran riot in the park, shouting, swearing and drinking until the small hours of Saturday morning.
The police were called and came but the noisy group moved away and reassembled when the police had driven away. This happens every year when Year 11s leave their schools.
They leave the park covered with tins, bottles, smashed bottles and other litter. Surely something can be done to prevent this happening again in 2013? Parents, police and the schools all have responsibility.

Special thanks to the jubilee people
AFTER HAVING A FABULOUS TIME AT OUR JUBILEE STREET PARTY ON SUNDAY, JUNE 3, I WOULD JUST LIKE TO SAY A HUGE THANK YOU TO THE FOLLOWING PEOPLE WHO DIDN’T BUT SHOULD HAVE GOT A MENTION IN LAST WEEK’S GAZETTE!
DEAN BURROUGHS, THE DJ WHO PLAYED MUSIC THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE DAY AND KEPT EVERYONE ENTERTAINED DURING THE MISERABLE WEATHER; HIS WIFE, MARIAN, WHO MANAGED TO GET WHITE WATCH FROM NORTHOLT [FIRE STATION] TO TURN UP, AND OF COURSE TO WHITE WATCH WHO LET THE CHILDREN CLIMB IN THEIR FIRE ENGINE AND DRESS UP IN THEIR UNIFORMS.
I WOULD LIKE TO SAY A BIG THANK YOU TO MY FAMILY FOR COMING UP FROM SOMERSET AND EASTBOURNE FOR THE DAY TO JOIN IN OUR PARTY.
England visit was marred by rubbish
COMING TO ENGLAND ON A SHORT VISIT TO JOIN IN THE RECENT CELEBRATIONS FOR THE QUEEN, I WAS SURPRISED TO SEE SO MUCH RUBBISH LYING AROUND ALL OVER THE PLACE WHEN THERE ARE BINS EVERYWHERE.
MY FRIENDS COMMENTED THAT IT WASN’T UXBRIDGE THAT IS UNTIDY, JUST THE PEOPLE LIVING HERE.
I DO NOT THINK MY FAMILY WILL BELIEVE ME WHEN I RETURN HOME, WHICH IS SO SAD WHEN YOU HAVE SUCH A BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY.

How to avoid the A40 roadworks
CONCERNING THE A40 ROADWORKS BETWEEN DENHAM AND GERRARDS CROSS, IT HAS BEEN CLAIMED THAT THE ONLY ALTERNATIVE WAY OF REACHING GERRARDS CROSS FROM DENHAM IS EITHER VIA ICKENHAM AND HAREFIELD, OR VIA BEACONSFIELD.
IN FACT, IT IS FAR EASIER AND FASTER TO TAKE A ROUTE VIA PINEWOOD AND FULMER.
