RUISLIP is preparing to host the biggest anti-HS2 event in the borough to date.
A family walk in opposition to the plans will depart from Ruislip Rugby Club in West End Road at 12noon on Sunday (17) before an 'alternative HS2 exhibition' is held inside the club to give residents more information and help them respond to the consultation.
Free outside entertainment will include a bouncy castle, live music, face painting and a beer tent.
The Ruislip Against HS2 (RAHS2) group is eager to correct much of the misinformation it has accused HS2 Ltd of providing during its official exhibition at Winston Churchill Hall in March.
The event, due to be attended by Uxbridge and South Ruislip MP John Randall, will display up-to-date maps, accurate sound demonstrations and advice on which properties would be affected.
RAHS2 chairman Lottie Jones said: "Everyone will be welcome and we want to make it a family event and show how strong our opposition is.
"At the exhibition we will have our own sound demonstration, maps and displays and we hope to correct a lot of the things that were said at Winston Churchill Hall and provide more information than they [HS2 Ltd] did."
