Popularity of 'E-Bacc' subjects on the rise at Harlington
GCSE results at Harlington Community School have seen improvement since last year, with several stand-out students celebrating their A* and A grades.
The school achieved a 64 per cent rate of pupils gaining more than five A*-CS.
Exceptional student Gurkirat Sekhon gained A*s across all of her 11 subjects, and is looking to study medicine after her A-levels.
Results for the English Baccalaureate subjects were also encouraging, with pass rates increasing by up to 20% in modern foreign languages, humanities, mathematics and science., and the school has seen a sharp uptake in students opting to go for the qualification.
Headteacher Liz Horrigan praised students for recognising and pursuing the value of academically rigorous subjects, and the tenacity and hard work that has enabled students to fulfill their potential.
