Guru Nanak Academy GCSE results
TEENAGERS at Guru Nanak picked up their GCSE results this morning (Thursday), with some students achieving passes across the board in 17 subjects.
All students gained five or more A*-C passes, and eighty nine per cent of pupils gained 10 or more.
Eleven per cent of students gained A*-C grades in 17 subjects.
One outstanding student, Jasneet Motizada, achieved 10 A* and 7 As, and he also took AS level Panjabi a year early, receiving an A for the language.
The academy also saw a 100 per cent pass rate in ICT.
Deputy head Greg Hall said that he was pleased with the results, despite it being a challenging year.
"Students and staff have had to put up with building work going on around them, but the £20m project is about to be completed.
"We do find it hard to fit everything into the curriculum, but we have excellent staff and very supportive parents, and these results are a reflection of that.
"The aim now is to continue to drive forward and improve next year."
